Looking for Trouble

And it’s easy to find
On a day like this,
Warm but not too —

First there’s this
Young filly,
Long legs to match
Her big-pawed puppy.

Then a gypsy on a bike,
Lips ripened by sun,
And her skirt
Is not really right
For such wind —

But you’re not
Going to
Hear me complain —

Makes the high meadow
An ocean
And we’re all
Tousled —
Dancing in passing
Cloud cover.

Cormorant’s shaking
His wings
To entice,
Hits the water
To meet his love.

And you can see
Where it’s deep
Or shallow
By the way
The wind paints it.

Two silhouettes
Slide across
A pointillist
Portrait.

And every day’s
More fuel and ink —
Another lover
To fuck or
To feed.

Only the wild
To witness,
And it’s coming
For us,
But not hard
And fast.

Just a luscious lull.
A fling,
Irresistible detour
Down one of
High summer’s
Old dirt roads.
